To produce the front cover and the contents page I used Adobe Indesign. The purpose of this task is to produce a front cover magazine for a school. Firstly drafting our ideas on to paper then actrully taking the picture ourselves and importing them on to our front covers. Using Adobe Indesign allowed us to explore variety of fonts and colours. We were responsible for however we wanted our magazine layout to look like. This included techniques like a strapline, masthead, hybrid, taglines and advertorial. Our main centre picture had to be in a medium shot. To make my magazine look more appealing I experimented with different swatches matching the fonts with the image.
I have chosen to put an advertisment for books with voucher on the front cover to attract the readers attention, because this is a school magazine it is likely it would attract students who like to read.
The contents page however is presented in simple form and does not consists of any images. The purpose for a content page is to show the audience what the magazine includes. If I was to improve my content page I would add a small image to show what is expected in that page. Reason why will do this is because when buying a magazine consumers tend to look at the front cover and content page before buying it so therefore this should be the most detailed and outstanding part of a magazine.
